![]() AHIMA Selects TopClass as e-Learning Platform
46,000 members now have access to online learning and payment
Dublin, Ireland - November 11th, 2003 - WBT Systems, a global leader in Enterprise e-Learning solutions, today announced that AHIMA, the American Health Information Management Association, has selected TopClass as their e-Learning solution to centrally manage their learners' training needs. To ensure that its members meet professional standards of excellence, AHIMA issues credentials in health information management and following their initial certification, AHIMA members must continually be recertified. AHIMA’s first attempt to manage learners was a simple system developed and supported by a local provider, which AHIMA quickly outgrew and made a decision to invest in an e-Learning platform solution that would enable them to centrally manage their learners’ training needs. An important requirement was the ability to convert content quickly into learning objects, as they worked with many external content providers. In addition to TopClass LCMS, AHIMA also utilizes TopClass to process credit card, check and purchase order payments from their membership. This offers a secure payment system integrated with a choice of backend credit card payment and verification systems. “My main advice to anyone who has made a decision to adopt an enterprise-wide e-Learning solution is to develop a well-structured approach to selecting and implementing the technology which would enable them to choose the one that best fits their needs," said Lana Vukovljak, MA, MS, Director of Continuing Education and Training, AHIMA. "By investing in TopClass we are able to centrally manage all our learner needs. This saves us time and cost and, most importantly, gives the best service to our students.” "We have seen this situation with other customers, where they have purchased a lightweight LMS and realise very quickly that it does not scale with the business," said Declan Kelly, CEO WBT Systems. "People are realising that without a platform solution, there is no central tracking, certification or reporting. We can take the data and content from the existing lightweight systems and convert them very quickly and easily over to TopClass. The transition is seamless, and leaves the customer with a truly scalable e-Learning solution that can grow with the business."
