LOMALearn Online to offer greater functionality and expanded course offerings
Dublin - December 1st, 2005 - WBT Systems, today announced the launch of LOMALearn Online, the e-Learning portal for LOMA , the leading trade association to the insurance and financial services industry. LOMALearn Online will be powered by WBT’s award-winning TopClass e-Learning SuiteTM, and has been designed to provide greater functionality and expanded course offerings. The TopClass system will manage and deliver content, training and certification to LOMA’s 1,200 member companies and other customers in more than 80 countries. The new system will not only power LOMA’s standard online learning offerings, but will also allow LOMA to provide its members and customers with privately branded online learning sites through an application service provider model. “We are really excited about the new LOMALearn Online”, stated Thomas P. Donaldson, FLMI, CLU, president and CEO of LOMA. “LOMA is the world’s largest provider of education and training to the global insurance and financial services sector. Each year, employees in organizations throughout the world enroll for more than 100,000 LOMA examinations covering insurance and financial services topics. Until now most of this training has been provided through self-study textbooks. TopClass will allow us to leverage our learning development expertise to redeploy our extensive library of award-winning insurance and financial services content in a variety of formats and product offerings previously unavailable to our customers. It will allow LOMA customers to choose topics to meet specific learning needs and to add their own content to create co-branded courses and programs.” WBT Systems CEO, Declan Kelly, welcomed the launch of LOMALearn Online. “At WBT Systems, we have a successful track record of significantly improving the overall business of professional training organizations (PTOs) and associations through the deployment of customized solutions via the Web. We believe our TopClass platform is ideally suited to the certification, collaboration and lifelong learning needs of LOMA and its members."
