Hospital Consortium to use TopClass to deliver Training

Dublin - January 12th, 2006 - WBT Systems, one of the leading providers of enterprise e-learning solutions in the world, announced today that its award-winning TopClass e-Learning Suite will be used to power an education and training initiative for a leading hospital consortium in the Netherlands. Four organisations; GGz Friesland, Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden, Revalidatie Friesland and Thuiszorg de Friese Wouden, have joined forces to develop a training portal to provide medical e-learning courses online. The portal will be powered by TopClass and managed by a local hosting provider, DataCenter Fryslan.

The new Healthcare Portal will manage and deliver blended learning in patient-based care for nursing staff. Each hospital has its own partition with a relevant welcome message and appropriate logo displayed. The first training program to be launched on the portal will be in the area of resusitation. When learners pass the e-learning component of the program, they will be invited to attend an Instructor Led Training (ILT) event. In this way, the amount of traditional classroom training is reduced. An important aspect of the WBT solution is the certification functionality offered by TopClass. Every year nursing staff have to recertify on a host of medical procedures and patient care regulations. TopClass provides automated tracking and notification when compliance certification and recertification are required.
