Dublin, Ireland - August 28th, 2006 - WBT Systems, one of the leading providers of enterprise e-learning solutions, has announced its acquisition by Horizon Technology Group plc (HOR). Horizon, founded in 1988, is a leading technical integrator and distributor of information technology products in the UK and Ireland. The company is listed on the London and Dublin stock exchanges and is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.

Horizon’s business is divided into two groups; the distribution and channel services division and the enterprise solutions division. The enterprise solutions division provides enabling technologies and services to assist organisations maximise the business benefits from their information technology infrastructure while minimising the disruption and risk, and it is with this division that WBT expects synergies to be realised.

WBT Systems will continue to operate independently as an enterprise e-learning solutions provider. Customers and partners will continue to be supported and serviced, and the Company will continue to market and develop the award winning TopClass e-Learning Suite. Paul Dooley will remain at WBT as Chief Executive Officer.

Commenting on this recent news Paul Dooley said, “We see the acquisition as being very positive, not just for WBT, but also for our customers and partners. While WBT will continue to operate as an autonomous business unit, being part of a large publicly traded company means we have access to a wider pool of resources and provides an even greater level of financial stability than we previously enjoyed.”

The acquisition of WBT will further strengthen Horizon's enterprise consulting business and broaden the solution sets that it can provide to the corporate market.”
