The TopClass training solution implemented by WBT Systems and its Australian partner AVRA for the global beverage company, Fosters, wins educational award
Dublin, Ireland - May 29th, 2007 - WBT Systems, a global leader in enterprise e-Learning solutions, today announces that the on-line wine education program (Wine Edge), implemented by WBT Systems and AVRA for the global beverage company, Fosters, has won the “Excellence in Learning Resources” award from the Australian Institute of Training and Development. With strong competition from the Australian Federal Police, Commonwealth Bank and Queensland Rail, the judging panel – comprised of learning and development professionals from the public and private sector - said that the Foster’s entry was outstanding in its user friendliness, level of interaction and technical excellence. The TopClass Learning Content Management System (LCMS) is being used to provide training to Foster’s sales representatives. It has a number of different classes, with interactive quizzes, tasting notes and video modules showing Foster’s wineries and vineyards. The solution not only enables new employees to get up to speed on the many wine brands, but can also be used as a comprehensive reference repository which stores a significant amount of information. Foster’s owns, markets and distributes an international portfolio of beer, wine, spirits, cider and non-alcohol brands. It also produces, markets and exports the world's leading portfolio of premium wine brands including Penfold's, Wolf Blass, Rosemount, Lindemans, Saltram, Seppelt, Wynns and Yellowglen from Australia, Beringer, Etude, Stag's Leap and Chateau Souverain from North America, Matua Valley and Secret Stone from New Zealand and Castella de Gabiano from Italy. TopClass LCMS (Learning Content Management System) from WBT Systems enables companies to manage e-Learning content and offers personalized content delivery, learner collaboration, learner tracking and assessment, web-based training administration, and database administration. WBT also counts Diageo, the global alcoholic drinks manufacturer among its customers. According to Marg McRobbie, Manager of Learning and Development at Foster’s, “This Award is wonderful recognition for our team who has been creating the resources over the past six months”. “We are delighted that this solution has been independently recognized”, commented Louella Morton, VP Global Alliances, WBT Systems. “WBT and our partner AVRA worked closely with the Foster’s team to ensure that a high-quality and intuitive system was delivered – the result is very impressive”.
