![]() World Bank is Top of Class for its Learning Initiative
The World Bank has dramatically improved its ability to deliver learning to its 10,000 World Bank staff around the world with WBT's TopClass LMS
Dublin, Ireland - February 3rd, 2009 - WBT Systems, a global leader in enterprise e-learning solutions today announced the successful implementation of TopClass, the Learning Management System that is supporting the World Bank’s learning program. Since implementing the learning solution, the Bank has dramatically improved its ability to deliver learning to its 10,000 World Bank staff around the world. Knowledge and learning is one of six strategic priorities at the World Bank. In recent years a number of enterprise learning initiatives were launched to strengthen staff skills and to enable staff to better serve their clients. The Bank identified the need for a state of the art Learning Management System to manage, administer, track and monitor training to their global workforce. Following a highly competitive and rigorous selection process, the Bank selected WBT’s TopClass Learning Management System to help them achieve this goal and to move to a blended learning model, offering both online and classroom-based learning. The Learning Management System acts as a single integrated source for all learning across the institution and is easily accessed, regardless of location, via a single interface with an online catalog of 600 courses. It integrates seamlessly with the Bank’s HR and Financial Systems for a complete data picture, and with Business Objects for robust and detailed reporting on all operational training areas, including the Bank’s annual learning budget. The LMS provides World Bank staff members with a reliable source for up-to-date training opportunities. Learning administrators have a comprehensive system to support all the functions related to the organization and management of learning. The system’s robust reporting capability means that the key training statistics and data can be made available to managers to support the professional development of their staff. In addition the Bank has a much enhanced capacity to monitor and assess investments in learning. This is critical to the Bank’s mission and to ensure that staff can assist clients with the best global knowledge available to address their development challenges. Paul Dooley, WBT Systems CEO, commented, “The success of the World Bank enterprise learning initiative demonstrates WBT’s ability to not only deliver world class learning solutions, but to also deliver value and results for our customers. This is another example of the power and flexibility of the TopClass solution being brought to bear to improve learning at a global organization.”
